In the summer of 2020 I got to work on a few jobs with O2 Treehouse an Oakland based custom treehouse fabrication outfit. These high-quality structures are commissioned, designed, fabricated and installed all over the country and vary greatly in style and scale. It was a great opportunity to get my hands dirty and work as part of a production team and produce some beautifully detailed structures.
I was part of the small onsite install team working in Sonoma County California to put together this redwood and steel structure designed and pre-fabricated by O2 Treehouse.
For my second project with O2 Treehouse I worked as the project manager and pre-fabrication lead for a backyard treehouse / play structure in Santa Barbara county.
This work involved taking the existing renderings done by Joël David and O2 Treehouse, specifying and preparing materials and coming up with material solutions as the structure took physical form during the pre-build stages at the O2 Treehouse shop in Oakland.
I oversaw a three person team of carpenters, builders and welders, while managing the budget and timeline for the pre-fabrication stage of this treehouse.
